Runs4Research:
We are glad to announce that the club will be hosting a charity match on Sunday 21st July 2024 between Shelley Cricket Club and Run4Research. Runs4Research are a cause for club cricketers to raise funds for Alzheimer's Research by scoring runs and taking wickets. The cause was set up by Jake Burton after losing his grandad who had suffered with Dementia for the last years of his life. He had been contemplating doing something to raise some money for research towards battling it! Runs4Research have now raised over £33,000 for Alzheimer's Research UK which is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved!

Hopefully the sun is out and we have plenty people up listening to some live music, enjoying some quality food provided by tin box pizza, watching some entertaining cricket and most importantly raising some good money for a great cause!

Easter Raffle:
Our Easter Raffle is now live! Tickets available for purchase at the club for £1. Prizes to be won range from an Easter egg to a bottle of wine. The raffle will be drawn on Friday 29th March! All the proceeds will go towards junior cricket equipment.

Reflections on February:
Our bar had a successful relaunch after being closed after renovations, we hope that everyone is enjoying our refreshed facilities!

Our senior and junior winter nets got underway at Honley High School being well attended by both senior and junior teams. Good to see plenty of old and new faces including some new additions for the senior teams.

The club are pleased to announce the signings of Atlaf Patel and Greg Alexander two great editions. Atlaf Patel previously of Hemsworth Miners Welfare of the Pontefract & District League scored 600+ league runs last season helping his side to a comfortable mid table finish. The top order batsman will strengthen Shelley’s top order massively. Greg Alexander’s previous club being Elland where he also scored 600+ and taking 20+ wickets in his best season at the club in the championship. Most of the Shelley players have come up against Greg at some point and know what he is capable of with both bat and ball. Overall, two great signings for the club who we hope to go on and thrive at Shelley!
