Shelley CC 2nd XI delivered a gritty, team-driven performance to secure a 52-run win over Hall Bower CC, banking six crucial points and reinforcing their growing momentum.
Batting first after winning the toss, Shelley posted 157-9 from 45 overs on a testing surface. The innings was built around contributions from Adam Green (28 off 40) and Ellis Mellor (27 off 62), who absorbed early pressure and laid the foundation. Late-order resistance came from Sam Jaggar (28 off 39) and skipper Tim Jones (23 off 38), whose calm presence ensured Shelley reached a defendable total. Hall Bower’s attack was led by Nigel Senior (3-12) and Mark Beaumont (2-25), but Shelley’s depth and resilience proved decisive.
In reply, Hall Bower stumbled early and never recovered. Harry Watson (3-20) and Sam Jaggar (3-18) shared six wickets, combining pace and precision to dismantle the middle order. Cameron France (2-18) and Abbas Syed (1-17) kept the pressure on, while sharp fielding—including a run-out from Edward Nightingale—tightened the noose. Despite a dogged 26 from Daniel Crines, Hall Bower were bowled out for 105 in 43.1 overs, handing Shelley a well-earned win.
